Polysorbates and POE stearate (E431–E436)
Polysorbates are sorbitol + fatty-acid esters. E433 (polysorbate 80) is the highest-volume food grade; E431 is the related polyoxyethylene stearate. The same plant-versus-animal fat question applies across the family.
