How to verify
- Read the Halal answer on Domino's UK food FAQ (corporate.dominos.co.uk).
- It covers chicken only.
- Ask the store which chicken an item uses, and remember that every Domino's UK kitchen also handles meats with no Halal claim.
Quick checks
- Domino's UK: no store or meat is promoted as Halal-approved.
- Most chicken is Halal-certified in Thailand; wings may not be.
- All chickens are stunned; check whether your standard accepts that.
- Every pizza shares one kitchen with meats that carry no Halal claim.
What decides the answer
-
Domino's UK does not promote any store or meat as Halal-approved
-
Most chicken (from Thailand) is Halal-certified by the religious authorities there, per Domino's
-
Chicken wings come from EU suppliers, some not Halal-approved
-
All chickens are stunned before slaughter
-
The FAQ makes no Halal claim for any other meat, and all meats share one kitchen
Why this ruling
Domino's Pizza Group runs Domino's in the UK and answers the Halal question on its own food FAQ, and the answer is short: "We don't promote our stores or meat as halal approved."[1]
What Domino's UK says about its chicken
The same answer explains where the chicken comes from. Most of it is sourced from suppliers in Thailand and is "certified as halal by the religious authorities". The exception is the chicken wings, which come from suppliers across EU countries, "some of which are not halal approved". And "all our chickens - even if halal - are stunned prior to slaughter."[1]
So a chicken pizza at Domino's UK probably uses Halal-certified chicken, but Domino's does not promise it, the wings are a separate supply, and the birds are stunned.
Why that is not a Halal store
A Halal-certified ingredient is not the same as a Halal kitchen. Domino's makes no Halal claim for any of its other meats, and all of them go through the same ovens, cutters and make-line as the chicken. Domino's itself declines to call any store Halal.
Who might still order
- If you accept Halal-certified, stunned chicken prepared beside other meats, a chicken pizza or chicken side fits that standard, except the wings.
- If you follow a certifier that rejects stunning, such as HMC, the chicken does not meet your standard. HMC vs HFA explains the difference.
- If you want a Halal restaurant, with no meat of unknown status in the kitchen, Domino's UK is not one, by its own account.

Scholarly view
Domino's UK gives an unusually plain answer: it does not present any store or meat as Halal. Its point that most chicken is Halal-certified in Thailand is a supply fact, not a promise about your order: the wings are excluded, the chickens are stunned (which some certifiers and scholars reject), and the kitchen also handles meat that has no Halal claim.
Muslims who accept Halal-certified, stunned chicken in a mixed kitchen may order a chicken pizza; those who want a Halal restaurant will not find one at Domino's UK.
