Is Lilydale Free Range Chicken Halal?
It depends on where you bought it.
Lilydale, the Australian free-range chicken brand, answers on its FAQ: 'Yes, Lilydale chicken is Halal accredited by the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC).' It adds that its value-added products, chicken that is crumbed, marinated or seasoned, may include ingredients that are not Halal-certified, and links a list of the accredited products.

Why this ruling
Lilydale is an Australian free-range chicken brand, sold fresh in supermarkets. It answers the Halal question on its FAQ and backs it with a product list.
AFIC-accredited chicken
Lilydale says: "Yes, Lilydale chicken is Halal accredited by the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC)."[1] Its August 2025 list of Halal-certified products covers the everyday cuts, breast fillets, thigh fillets, drumsticks, wings, tenderloins and mince, plus whole birds, hot roasts and a whole turkey.[2]
The crumbed and marinated packs
The FAQ adds a caveat: its value-added products, "crumbed, marinated or seasoned", "may include ingredients which may or may not be Halal certified".[1] Only some of them are on the list: four chilled crumbed lines, including the Breast in Homestyle Crumb, plus a Sage & Onion Roast and Wing Nibbles in Vietnamese flavour.[2] If your pack isn't named there, don't assume.
For how slaughter decides chicken, see chicken; for crumbed cuts in general, see schnitzel.

Scholarly view
A named certifier with a published product list is about as clear as supermarket chicken gets. The one gap is the value-added range: Halal slaughter settles the meat, but a marinade or crumb can add ingredients the certificate doesn't cover, which is why Lilydale lists them one by one.
