Levantine food

Levantine street food is widely Halal-oriented in Muslim communities, yet tourist and diaspora kitchens still need meat and gelatin checks. Falafel and hummus are usually Halal; shawarma and mansaf track slaughter; knafeh may use animal rennet cheese or gelatin.
