Why it is Haram
Distilled spirits are khamr. Qur'an 5:90 commands avoiding intoxicants. The Prophet said every intoxicant is khamr and every intoxicant is forbidden (Sahih Muslim 2003a) and that what intoxicates in large amounts is haram in small amounts (Abu Dawud 3681).
Jami' at-Tirmidhi 1295 curses the presser, drinker, carrier, server, and seller of wine. IslamQA 201520 treats dishes cooked with alcohol as haram when the essence remains. USDA retention research undercuts the claim that a brief simmer removes the alcohol. TTB/eCFR identity only shows it is a distilled spirit—not a Halal pathway.
