Bratwurst is Germany's everyday frying and grilling sausage, served in a crusty roll with mustard at markets, football grounds and Christmas markets. There are dozens of regional kinds. Most are made from pork, some from pork mixed with beef or veal, and nearly all are filled into pork or sheep casings. An ordinary bratwurst is therefore not Halal.[3][2][1]

Even a "veal" or "beef" bratwurst often contains pork fat or uses a pork casing, and its meat is not from Halal slaughter unless it says so.
Halal bratwurst
Halal beef and chicken bratwurst is made by Turkish and other Muslim butchers and producers in Germany, and it is sold in many supermarkets and at some stalls, labelled helal or halal. At a stall or in a restaurant
A market stall grilling one kind of sausage is selling pork unless it clearly says otherwise. Where Halal sausages are sold beside pork ones, they are usually cooked on the same grill, so ask. In the American Midwest, "beer brats" are simmered in beer before grilling; see beer.
