Why this ruling
Galaxy is Mars Wrigley's milk chocolate brand in the UK and Ireland, sold as bars, sharing blocks, Galaxy Caramel and Minstrels. Galaxy's own product pages give the ingredients, so the answer comes straight from the maker.
What's in it
Smooth Milk lists sugar, skimmed milk powder, cocoa butter, cocoa mass, milk fat, whey permeate, palm fat and soya lecithin.[1] Smooth Caramel adds glucose syrup and salt.[2] Minstrels add a sugar shell coloured with beetroot red, vegetable carbon and curcumin, glazed with carnauba wax, and are marked suitable for vegetarians.[3]
There is no gelatine, alcohol, vanilla extract or animal fat on any of the three.
The one check: whey
Whey permeate is what is left of whey after its protein is taken out, and whey comes from cheese-making. Some scholars want the cheese's rennet to be Halal; others accept whey whatever the rennet. The whey page sets out both views.
Not Halal-certified
Galaxy's FAQ covers allergens, palm oil and milk sourcing but says nothing about Halal,[4] and UK packs carry no Halal mark. On its ingredients, most Muslims eat Galaxy. For other UK chocolate, see Maltesers, Cadbury and the UK Halal sweets guide.

Scholarly view
With no gelatine, alcohol or animal fat listed, Galaxy raises only the whey question. Whey is a by-product of cheese-making, and some scholars want the cheese's rennet to be Halal; others accept whey whatever the rennet. Those who eat only certified sweets will find no Halal mark on UK Galaxy.
